The connection plug for the second channel has an intermittent issue.  I suspect that the problem is in the plug, and can be fixed by replacing the plug, or if you are handy hard wire it.  If the main unit is not moved around, I found the second speaker played fine and did not cut out.  You just need to get the wire positioned right and avoid moving it.  See Glitch Video.
