dac® DHA PERFORM is a docosahexanoic Acid (DHA) supplement that may help reduce inflammation associated with training and competition in all classes of horses.
Omega 3 fatty acids include a-linolenic acid (ALA, plant sources such as flax), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, marine sources such as algae), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, marine sources such as algae). There is NO EPA/DHA in any plants like flax, chia, hemp etc. The body does not utilize ALA directly, it must first be converted to EPA and DHA this conversion rate is poor. In order to be reaping the benefits of Omega 3 fatty acids we need to feed direct sources of DHA.
