Description

Offered here is an 11" inch metal plate made to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the founding of the 28th Infantry Division, a unit of the National Guard, and the oldest such division sized unit in within the Department of Defense.  Also originally nicknamed the Keystone Division, then the "Iron Division" in WWI and the
"Bloody Bucket" division in WWII by German
forces due to the shape and color of its red keystone insignia, the unit has served with honor since the 19th century.  This plate made by Wilton Armetale in the Unit's home state of Pennsylvania of an aluminum alloy (but over 2 pounds!) is in great condition.  There are numbers hand-etched into the back of the plate which appears to include a date of 8-1980.  Please view the pictures carefully, as they are an important part of the description.  Sale and shipping is limited to buyers in the United States and payment is expected within three days of the successful end of the listing.  Shipping is via USPS Parcel Select Ground Mail. Thanks for looking!
